    Hi Everyone!

I’m loving MODx Revolution, and now I’m trying to create the following snippit, let me explain:

I have a client, who has multiple users who have multiple e-mailadresses. Can I create a hook for Login in a way, that: A user can login with multiple e-mailaddresses? I have created a schema for contact_details, which contains multiple e-mailaddresses. How can I achieve this?

Help would be highly appreciated! I know how modx works, but never needed to go this deep!

    Best regards,

    Rogier

I’m familiar with MODx Revo but, to the best of my knowledge, email addresses are irrelevant for log-ins.

However, there might be a way, and a simple solution. No, this is not too deep at all. This is easy and simple, or should be simple. I’ve never tried this one, but I see no reason why it wouldn’t work, if you created let’s say 10 users with 10 user names. And if you made the 10 users use their email addresses for their user names. And if each of those 10 users had 10 email addresses, then you would be able to input up to (10 x 10 =) 100 email addresses for their log-in.

If the ampersand sign is accepted by MODx Manager, then it should be simple.

However, with this approach, there might be several new issues on the horizon, with multiple personalities, multiple passwords, and multiple password changes.

But, if you do it for money, it might pay and pay and pay again!
        Best regards,
        Mike

Does this mean you want each user to be able to maintain multiple connections into MODX? Once they login with one username (MODX uses usernames instead of email addresses), you could create something inside of MODX that shows their email addresses based on what their login name is, either on the front end or the back end.

Thanks for the replies. I’ll dive in to it!

There are users, and they will have different rolls, and they must be able to login with a e-mailadres specified in the rol. So I’ve extended modUser to my new userRolls snippit.

A user with 2 rolls, has two records in userRolls. I think I’m gonne do a check with the login snippit for the relationship to the modUser.

          Hard to explain!

Thanks for the help so far!
