Site working well on local installation. Uses 2 TV’s for left and right sidebar content. When uploaded to remote, website works well for anyone browsing the internet. But in Manager the TV content (under Resources -> Template Variables) does not appear, as if it were never uploaded. (Using MODx Revolution 2.0.4, tinyMCE 4.1.2). Any ideas on what happened to my TV’s? Thanks... Larry
Problem seems to have been solved in Unglued’s post:
Re: [Revo] TV deletes itself when editing
This is ridiculous. When I edited the file core/model/modx/processors/element/tv/update.php bug disappeared. All I did is just uploaded the file to the server. I think the problem was connected with the rights to read and write. A file update reset these rights.
Solved?
This seems to work in my situation as well.
Well, the idea that editing the update.php file solved the problem seems to have been wishful thinking. The disappearing tv content is an ongoing challenge. When editing a page I have to make sure the tv content is there before saving, else it is gone. Sometimes it is there, sometimes it is not. No discernible pattern. If I need to update a page that has lost its tv, I have to recreate the content before saving. To me this seems a rather serious instability; at any rate it is very discouraging.
