I’ve got a site with two areas for menus. The top main nav area is, naturally, the first level and the side menus are set up with second level menus. The top-level pages serve as containers for the second-level pages. Everything works great.
I’ve got several of these second level side menus. The code for each side menu lives in a named chunk, which I place on a given page by way of a (tag Input Type) TV I’ve created.
No problems with that, everything works great.
However, each time I create a completely new side menu system somewhere, I have to go through the routine of placing second level wayfinder code in a chunk. Then, call that chunk from within the TV I created inside a page that I want that menu to appear.
That’s easy enough form me to do... I created the site. However, a client with limited web design experience might have a difficult time understanding all those procedures, especially the wayfinder code part inside a chunk. Also, because I want to limit the permissions that an end-client has and not give them access to the whole elements tab area (to limit damage), it is probably not possible for an end client to create new side menu systems on their own within their site without getting me involved. At least not by way of creating menu systems as outlined above.
Is there another way to have ModX Revo / wayfinder create second level menu systems that any non-web savvyy person can do on their own without having to resort to creating new separate chunks and such? More of an automated menu creation system? I know other CMS systems can do this but can ModX Revo and/or wayfinder?
Thank you in advance.

Use a Wayfinder call in your template that uses UltimateParent snippet as the startid for the secondary menus. This will generate the menu based on the ultimate parent of the page the user is on. There’s a bit more to it than that, but that’s the basic use for the UltimateParent snippet.
just add your second-level wayfinder-tag to your sidebar fix in your template and you’re done.
if you want to show/hide wayfinder on some pages you can use checkbox-tvs or other conditionals.
