Hi! I have very strange problem on Revo 2.0.8.
Then I edit some template variable, this tv removes from DB. Even if this TV used is already on multiple pages.
I tried use SAVE button and short key CTRL+ALT+S anyway the result is bad sad
In the logs are not written any information. No Errors, no warn (Even in debug mode)

Can the problem be related to the rights of files, because I have clearly seen this some kind of problem.
The rest seems to work fine. Maybe except phpthumb. It also has a strange way, but I have not figured out exactly how.
I use Revo at four sites, and never had problems until today. But all four sites running on the same server. And this problem site on another server.
for($i=0; $i<100; $i++) echo 'Why is it not working?';

TVs that have the default value for the TV are not stored in the DB. I’m guessing that’s what you’re seeing. It threw me at first too. wink

Unless the TV itself is being deleted (rather than the value for a specific resource) -- that would be a bug.

I specifically followed the creation of TV.
I created a TV, made sure it appeared in the database, then edit it, and then it disappeared from the database.

Even if the TV set value for some resource, then removed and the TV and all values for it from all resorces.
It is obvious that this bug directly related to the server. But it is not clear HOW!

I’ve never seen that. Does it happen when you save with the "Save" button too?

The only thing I can think of is mod_security objecting to the content of the TV, but even that shouldn’t delete it from the DB.

Yeah.

What files are involved in editing the TV? I’ll try to catch this bug.

The first place to look would be:

core/model/modx/processors/element/tv/update.php

Do you have any TV-related form customization rules? If so, I’d try disabling them first to see if that makes the problem go away.

This is ridiculous. When I edited the file core/model/modx/processors/element/tv/update.php bug disappeared. All I did is just uploaded the file to the server. I think the problem was connected with the rights to read and write. A file update reset these rights.

Solved?

Thank you unglued. Your post was a timely one for my problem (TV content disappearing).
I just opened core/model/modx/processors/element/tv/update.php for editing, saved it, and
all my TV content reappeared.

Just in case, upload the entire ’tv’ folder. I had a problem that I could not delete the TV. After I uploaded the entire folder, the problem disappeared.

It could definitely be a problem with file and folder permissions (and/or file ownership), though it’s still a mystery to me how that would cause a TV to be deleted from the DB.
