Has anyone had issues with ie 8 kicking you out after each save in the manager? I have had to start using firefox because I cannot seem to be able to stay logged in using ie 8. Wouldn’t bother me much except the client refuses to use anything but IE 8.
I don’t think session handling will explain why it’s ok in FF but not in IE8. I’m interested to hear if others are having trouble (or not) with IE8.
I have never gotten kicked out of the manager with IE8. The only problems that I encounter occasionally is sometimes (not always) when editing a snippet, template, or chunk (not normal page editing), IE8 switches to compatibility mode and consequently refreshes the page. This has the effect of reloading the ’home’ page instead of whatever resource I was going to edit.
It seems to be the compatibility issue that was mentioned by sjh_vt as I get a message that tells me of the problem when I try to do a search or edit a snippet/chunk. However I get booted back to the login page the first time. After that it only seems to happen once in awhile. I gave it a good workout and it didn’t happen as often as before. This seems to be the same in both the user manager and admin sides. I will google the compatibility feature and try to see what it is used for. Maybe it can be disabled in the browser.
