    I am still trying to move a modX site. I have deployed everything mentioned in the previous post, "moving to new server."

    I need to be able to move modx sites for deployment after development, and backup.

    I have tried to move this repeatedly over the past 4 days and I get the same result.
    Manager: Correct login redirects to blank login screen
    appearance: link to assets, CSS are somehow screwed up and I can’t find where this originates

    The original site is here: http://www.earthandspiritcenter.org/lent45/
    THe URL www.lent45.org redirects to www.earthandspiritcenter.org/lent45/
    The target back up, where you can see the problems is here: http://www.fitzio.com/testEnvironments/lent45

    PDO is running and enabled in the php.ini folder located in the root public_html
    Furl is turned off throughout move process
    Followed this procedure closely, including updating links in all config files (current version does not include upgrade/install):

    Please help me out here. I am more of a designer than developer, so I love the flexibility of ModX, but I can’t resolve this, I’ll have to quit choosing it as a CMS.

    Web Server: shared Linux on Apache

    * PHP version 5
    * Apache

    * MySQL version 5.1.54
    MODx:
    * Version 2.0.6
    * plugins FOrmit wayfinder tinyMCE
    Browser/Client:

    * Browser name and version Firefox 3.6.16
    * Operating System and version Mac OSX

      Hi,
      On your problem page this is your base href.
      <base href="http://www.fitzio.com/lent45/" />
      So it wants to find
      http://www.fitzio.com/lent45/assets/CSS/resetStyles.css
      which doesn’t appear to exist.

      However, your test environment URL is this
      http://www.fitzio.com/testEnvironments/lent45/
      and this
      http://www.fitzio.com/testEnvironments/lent45/assets/CSS/resetStyles.css
      does exist.

      In other words, it seems that you’re hard-coding your base href and need to change that when you change servers.

      Hope this helps,
      Matt

        If I hard-coded my base href, I’m not sure it is intentional. Can you tell me which file I would edit to set it to a more appropriate standard? Is it a config or a db table? Sorry, I’m more of a designer than a developer... smiley

          Well, that was just my guess. Did you move the database from the original site to the experimental site? I’ve not moved a Revo site, so I was assuming that those instructions would have taken care of any change in the URL.

          Where I would look to find a hard-coded href is in the template(s) that are used to serve up each page. There should be something like
          <base href="[(site_url)]"></base>
          at the top, in the <head> section, rather than something like
          <base href="http://www.yoursitesname.com"></base>

          Hope that helps,
          Matt
