    Hi,

I have my first Revolution site working nicely on a local installation and am now trying to upload to my web host. Second attempt was really encouraging. I could view the website and login to the manager & stuff. But a few strange things were happening, eg losing TV content. I thought I would try again - wiped everything off the remote server, and uploaded again, changed the paths, checked the database etc. But now I get nowhere. I get this message: "Internal server error. The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request". So I can’t even see the website or get into the Manager. I’ve tried uploading again three times, with same result each time. Don’t know where to go from here - any ideas would be greatly appreciated. (I’m using revolution 2.0.4 on a mac OS10.6.5). Thanks, Larry

      Hi again,

Well, it has partly at least to do with permissions. Changing folder permissions from 777 to 755 makes the website work for viewing, and I can login to the manager. However, the manager is non-functional. The main menu bar is intact and all the dropdowns are there, but the pages selected don’t fully load. There is no site tree, and resources can’t be accessed. I’d like to clear the cache but it won’t do it. Any ideas on how to get the Manager back?

Just to bring closure to this post... Site access problem was permission issue. Got host to reset permissions to default ie 755 & 644 (files & folders had all uploaded as 777). Site then worked beautifully for anyone browsing. Problem with losing template variable content was a css issue, though I’m not completely sure how. I cleaned up my css files somewhat, and that problem seems to have resolved. Also not sure why Manager was messing up, but now everything is working nicely.
