Hi Peeps - Newbie here
I’ve installed MODX 1.0.5 - everything went well and worked straight off - WELL IMPRESSED. I’m getting my head round how to build the structure and started looking at chunks and snippets for the dynamic stuff. I can extract data from the DB tables and loop through it and display it on a page using a snippet that calls a chunk and uses place holders.
What I need to do now is to display a page that shows a story’s details and the first sentence in that story, the user can then click a link to go to the next sentence in the story and so on - one page/sentence at a time. The user can go back and forth through the sentences in the story. I’m trying to port this site to MODX
http://soshul.org.uk/story/play.php then click on Read Story (this uses ajax to display it in a div - not ready for that MODX learning curve yet but all advice welcomed
) I’m really stuck on how to do the pagination. I’ve dabbled with DataGrid but really struggling and not even sure it will give me the flexibility to display the sentences how I want to.
I’m desperately hoping someone will say "Get a grip smiffy - thats easy just do it like this this"
