Hello there,
I’m trying to move my current Modx revo 2.0.7 site from my desktop WAMP environment, onto my laptop XAMPP in order that I can show it to my client.
I’ve never attempted anything this before, having only ever worked with static HTML, so it’s a little daunting to say the least.
The first thing I tried was to more the entire www/modx subdirectory from WAMP into htdocs/modx in XAMPP as well as exporting/importing the sql database.
The database copied over fine, but the modx copy didn’t go so well (probably not surprising to some of you) - I cleared out the core/cache directory and am able to run setup, but i keep on getting two errors:
1 - Checking if C:/xampp/htdocs/modx/core/config/config.in.php exists and is writable:
Failed!
This file does exist, but I’m not sure how to make it writable.
2 -
Database connection failed!
I’ve already copied the database over succesfully (or so I’m lead to believe by phpMyAdmin) as I’ve been sort of following the work-flow as set out here
http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/Moving_Site_To_Another_Location.
As an aside, having roughly followed the instructions as per the link above, I’m unable to complete step 3: "Then make a copy of manager/includes/config.inc.php as config.local.inc.php, and edit config.inc.php..." as I have no manager/includes directory.
Any help is gratefully received.
Edit: The current WAMP set-up is Apache 2.2.17 - PHP 5.3.5 - MySQL 5.5.8 - running on Windows XP pro
The destination is XAMPP 1.7.3 - running on Windows 7 home
