I have tried searching for this, but the question is hard to phrase.

I have a resource with 3 child pages. I want the parent to show on the menu (with the child pages appearing on hover - this works) but I don’t want there to be a page for that menu item, only the sub pages. Clicking on the top level menu item does nothing.

I’ve tried unpublishing but keeping show in menu ticked - which is the logical way to do it, but it doesn’t work.

Someone will know the answer...thanks in advance.

    Hope the explanation makes sense.

As soon as you can’t have some kind of "virtual folder" in MODX, good solution would be like this:
      1. Prevent link to folder doc from clicking by JavaScript (as I understood, this is already done)
      2. Use FirstChildRedirect snippet for those visitors who have JS disabled or those who will try to acces your folder doc by URL. The snippet mentioned redirects visitors to first child doc.

Thanks for that. I don’t quite understand what you mean in point 1. Are you saying that the javascript for that is already there?

Hmmm...I just had an idea. If I make it a weblink instead of a page and make the link to #, that might do the trick.

        Stand by for more...

I love answering my own question grin

But it was your answer that gave me the hint Warsteiner.

Make the resource a weblink and then make the weblink just #

WARNING: In evolution it takes 2 steps. Step 1 make it a weblink and save. Edit and then the weblink text box becomes available.

Additional warning. If you have anything on the page you want to keep, duplicate the page first - it trashes the page badly.

This might be better on revolution, but I am not upgrading this site.

            That’s interesting.
Are you using FURL’s? If yes, how the page URL looks like now?
