I am working on importing a site of 100s of pages into MODx. I want the pages to be published over a period of time, not in one big bang, for example one site section per week, and I have been wondering how to do this.

The idea I had was to import the pages then update the ’publish date’ field in mySQL in modx_site_content.pub_date.

    Would this work?

It would be hard to identify the IDs of each page because there are so many pages, so I thought I would only set the pub_date for the top level page (I could identify the IDs a lot easier).

    Thanks, Tony

The Docmanager module may help you here, you could import your pages then use this to set pub dates, edited by etc. either from a tree selection or from entering discrete document ranges. It’s included in the standard install unless you elected not to install it on your initial setup.
Use MODx, or the cat gets it!
