HI... just starting out to play with Revo. I have not touched modx for long long time. In Fact the last time i played with Modx, Revo had only been released as a beta..
anyway. What I am struggling with is
Manager>System>Package Management>Download Extras
when I select an package to download nothing actually happens. The download button stays greyed out and never changes to downloaded. I get no error messages, nothing. I have been trying this since yesterday. Today I thought I would just leave the machine to see if anything happens. It has been like that for 3 hours and no change...?
Tried FF, IE, Chrome and Opera.. all the same
any ideas?? kind of puts the hammer down on my learning of modx on day 3
thanks
M
Make sure the cURL is enabled. Package Manager needs it.
Hi..
had a look at the server’s phpinfo
is this right?
----
cURL support enabled
cURL Information libcurl/7.21.4 OpenSSL/0.9.8b zlib/1.2.3 libidn/0.6.5
----
I have a few different live sites on the server running fine, mostly Drupal, Magento, ZenCart and osTicket sites.
this has me a bit stumped at the first hurdle...
here is some server info in case it’s a server thing..
Server OS: Linux 2.6.18-194.26.1.el5
Database: MySQL 5.0.92-community-log
HTTP Server: Apache
PHP Version: 5.2.17 (Zend: 2.2.0)
PHP Memory Limit: 64M PHP Safe Mode: Off
PHP File Uploads: On
Please help... really want to finally crack on and learn modx
thanks

something has changed. Just tried again and now when i click on download, nothing happens at all.. it does not even change to ’downloading’ or greys out?
Nothing on the server has changed.
Just thought I would update in case anyone knows what has gone wrong from me
Try upgrading to MODx 2.0.8.
Hi..
I have 2.0.8-pl (traditional) installed.
Tried two installs now, one direct ftp upload of the files downloaded from the modx site...
and this afternoon i tried a softaculous MODX install that’s built into my servers cPanel.
both the same craic..
nothing happens lol
dont know what else to do... I want to crack this problem as clearly something is not right with my installs..
btw.. i have tried on a win7 machine and a ubuntu 10.10 machine... and the servers error logs and the modx error logs are empty.. in case that helps..
I’m a HUGE proponent of using Firebug (Firefox add-on) for analyzing ajax requests.
If you have the add-on, you should have the Firebug console visible when you attempt to download and/or install a package. Anything in red, or an empty response, or an unexpected response such as a 404 not found, 500 server error, etc. will help isolate the problem.

no errors.. gets ***ed off with this now. To be honest, will give it one last attempt before sacking it off.... willing to set up some webspace on the server for a modx dev/support to look at to see what and why this is not working. Host says its not the server (typical host response) but then there are many magento, dru, zc and some bespoke php/mysql sites running fine...?
In case this helps someone in the future who has this problem. My problem was due to my mod_security rules. Changed some of the parameters and it now works, like it says on the tin
Thanks
