    Version: Revolution 2.0.4 pl2

    I was experimenting with the users/roles and perms the other day. Just tried logging to the Manager as main admin but received Permission Denied. I’ve obviously screwed something up in the perms. Can someone provide me default settings so I can edit the db to revert them or is there another way?

    Thanks in advance.

      Not optimistic judging by lack of response wink

      Looking likely that a fresh install and rebuilding the chunks, snippets and content from the current db is necessary. Are the following tables all I’d need to copy over to a new install?

      Structure modx_site_content
      Structure modx_site_content_metatags
      Structure modx_site_htmlsnippets
      Structure modx_site_keywords
      Structure modx_site_metatags
      Structure modx_site_plugins
      Structure modx_site_plugin_events
      Structure modx_site_snippets
      Structure modx_site_templates
      Structure modx_site_tmplvars
      Structure modx_site_tmplvar_access
      Structure modx_site_tmplvar_contentvalues
      Structure modx_site_tmplvar_templates

      Thanks!

        I’m guessing you don’t have a back up of the database.
        I’m also guessing that you might make a backup before messing with certain things in the future.
        I’d like to add that if we were all honest we would probably admit to doing something similar at one point or another.

        Looks like you’re on a possible track to solve - make sure you have a complete backup up of the database as it is now in case your list is missing some important table
        I do not know the eternals off the top of my head to say whether you missed something.
        Good Luck!

        Maybe the modx_manager_log could give you an idea about what table(s) you altered - then you could try creating a fresh install and then use it to compare with the old and edit your original database to give your main admin access to the manager again. Never done this so this just an idea that might be worth trying if you have a lot of content / structure in the database.

          The most likely thing is a restrictive Context Access ACL entry.

          Load up the modx_context_access table and delete all entries except the first three (which should look like this):

          1 web modUserGroup   0   9999    3
          2 mgr modUserGroup   1   0       2
          3 web modUserGroup   1   0       2

          Then delete the files in the core/cache directory.

            @BobRay

            Thanks for the suggestion - unfortunately the issue persists.

            @Whistlemaker

            It’s always the time you aren’t careful that bad things happen wink

            As much as I would like to correct the situation (just so I can understand what I’ve done better) I’m not too fussed. I’ve been contemplating a redesign for a couple of weeks and will take this opportunity to do just that.

            Thanks for the help guys.
