Hi! I always got serious problems moving a revo site to another server, especially with certain addons. I think the main problems occurs when transferring the db.
I was wandering: what if I do a fresh installation of Revo on the new server (here I’m assuming it has exactly the same configurations of the old server, just link moving the site from a folder to another folder of the same root); then load the old assets folder in the new server; then download and install all the addons I need. And then, dump and move from the old db ONLY the tables relative to resources and elements (templates, chunks, snippets?) again, assuming that the db type and config is the same of the old one?
Would it potentially work? In other words, I’d like to do a fresh install and only transfer the assets and the relevant data from the db (so mainly resources, templates, chunks and snippets). NO PROBLEM to reset users/permissions and system settings here, it’s not a concern for me.
Would it be good? And if yes, what are the tables I should transfer?
Also, in phpMyAdmin there are really a lot of options when you export/import the db. How do one setup them? For exemple, in the Wordpress docs this informations are clear.
Thank you
And to further investigate: is it possible to transfer only (all) the database and the assets+packages folder from an existing revo installation to another? And what if one is 2.0.7 and the other is 2.0.8? Could I have problems with the db?
And also, what are the phpMyAdmin export options that one should setup to have a correct and mysql version-agnostic file?
Thank you
