      - Do you have cURL installed and enabled?
      - Try setting the provider URL to http://rest.modx.com/extras/

        1. curl, no, I don’t think so. I really don’t know even how to activate it.

        2. Tryied, but nothing. An error occurred while connecting to the Provider: MODx received a blank response from the provider. Please double check your service URL and make sure the provider is a valid provider.

        And we’re just trying to connect to reistall Gallery. After a few months of tryies, doc studies, forum posts etc... Still we definitely cannot easily migrate a modx db from a server to another server without braking any version of Gallery. Gallery is the only addon (of the ones we use) that really suffers of any server db migration, and every time with a different kind of error/problem..
        I strongly suggest you to make it more reliable in future versions because this is a huge problem.

        Thank you!

          You need cURL to use Package Management.

          To move Gallery, you need to change the paths that Gallery sets; there are System Settings in Gallery that are set that you can find that specify the paths.

            Yes there are. Some have a path, some other another path. ex:

            gallery.assets_path == /accounts/reghellin/www/reghellin.unbit.it/ferrarese/assets/components/gallery/

            gallery.assets_url == /ferrarese/assets/components/gallery/

            where the first one is the effective complete app path, where the second is only a piece of that path. Should I set all with /accounts/reghellin/www/reghellin.unbit.it/ first?

              And by the way, curl is active.

              More strange, my collegue, that is working on the same admin from another computer, has no problems with the provider connection (?). With mine, suddenly I cannot connect anymore, with any browser (safari, ff, chrome)

                  1. Make sure open_basedir is off; some people have reported issues with this.
                  2. Change the provider URL to http://rest.modx.com/extras/

                    open_basedir has ’no value’

                    should I explicitly set it to ’off’? It would be the only thing I have to set up on a .ini

                    I’ve also updated the provider’s url, with no luck.

                    It’s really a bad thing this one.

                    Please help.

                      Another shot here. Now that I’ve changed the provider url, I get ’provider not specified’. BUT I in fact selected the provider. So..
                      And if I search in the field, I in fact get the addons. But no directories on the left, only that message. And also (minor bug) the select is not well rendered (and I’m using the latest ff on latest mac os x)

                      I think you should definitely improve the reliability of these features. smiley

                      Anyway, how to fix the main problem?
