    Hi all,

    Need a bit of help. I have designed and built a ModX Evolution site on my server for a client. He asked me to migrate it over to his hosting account to host. I did the following:

    - Downloaded a complete copy of the site onto my computer
    - Exported the database in PHPMyAdmin
    - Ammended the .htaccess file as the RewriteBase was a subfolder of my domain (ammended to /)
    - Set up new databse, user and password (with full priveledges)
    - Ammended the $database_user, $database_password & $dbase in manager/includes/config.inc.php
    - Imported the database into the new server, running MySQL 4
    - Uploaded files to new directory

    and I have the followubg ModX Parse Error

    PHP error debug
    Error: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user ’admin_modx’@’colo300.colocated.co.uk’ (using password: YES)
    Error type/ Nr.: Warning - 2
    File: /var/www/vhosts/stalliontrainingconsultants.co.uk/httpdocs/manager/includes/extenders/dbapi.mysql.class.inc.php
    Line: 89
    Line 89 source: if (!$this->conn = ($persist ? mysql_pconnect($host, $uid, $pwd) : mysql_connect($host, $uid, $pwd, true))) {

    ModX version 1.0.4
    Running PHP 5
    MySQL version 4
    Server OS Linux

    the URL of the website is http://stalliontrainingconsultants.co.uk

    Anyone out there who can help please?

      Did you edit the manager/includes/config.inc.php file to match your new DB details?

          And your database_server is colo300.colocated.co.uk?
          More usually it’s localhost.

            I had tried it with localhost, as that is how I usually do it, but after contacting the hosting company and explaining to them the problem. They said to point it at

            $database_server = ’mysql4.stalliontrainingconsultants.co.uk:50310’;

            The numbers on the end being the port number. I don’t know why it is redirecting to colo300.colocated.co.uk

              When I copied and pasted that url I found you have a space between the u & the k; try with
              mysql4.stalliontrainingconsultants.co.uk:50310
              I got a ’bad handshake’ error from the mysql server, which is promising!

                Still no luck. Checked for spaces and tried again. Still nothing, just displaying the usual ModxX Parse Error load of red text.

                  What was the version of MySQL on the old host? Also did you try re-running setup (upgrade mode) to see if that will help? You might also try changing the password, there could be a character in the password causing problems.
