    Hello all,

    I’ve recently started using ModX for development of CMS-driven websites for clients, and after a short initial learning curve I’m loving it! While setting up the website for handover to my client however, I’ve run into an issue with the (reduced) permissions I want my client to have, while keeping the Admin (myself) in charge of the entire website.

    In short, here’s the scenario I’m seeking to accomplish:

    - Client has edit permission for a select amount of resources (text pages);
    - Client has add/edit/delete permission for children of one resource (client can manage News items <--> children of the News resource which Client may not edit);
    - Administrator has all permissions for all resources.

    I have tried switching off general permission to add/edit/delete resources for Client and adding those resources he is allowed to touch manually. However, my problem is that I want Client to be able to add/edit/delete ANY resource that is a child of the News document. But on the Resource Group page, I can only add single pages (not ’all children of...’) to a Group.

    The reverse, allowing Client to add/edit/delete resources in general but switching off selected resources might work, but in this case I would have to manually add new resources that I don’t want Client to have access to, to the right Resource Group, which is a hassle and doesn’t seem the right way to do things.

    So, in short, I am a little puzzled as to the proper approach to my situation. Any light that could be shed upon my issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Joep van Putten

      *bump*

      Anyone who could share their thoughts? Am I silly for not understanding how simple this is? Is it impossible? Anything? smiley
