Site Tree using Menu field rather than title field

Hi,

How do I change the default for MODX from using the title field in the site tree to using the Menu field i.e. instead of using the title: tea and cake website all about tea and cake in the site tree it uses the Menu field: Home. So when it comes to editing the website it will be easier to spot the right page to edit?

Thanks

Hi,
That’s one I’ve never heard before. No way that I know of.

I almost never use Menu Title. I have to assume that you’re using the document title in some other way, so you need both. That being the case you could code your way around it with some work:

Move the Page Title to Long Title. Move the Menu Title to Page Title. Then change your templates to use Long Title where they used Page Title before. In this scenario you don’t need Menu Title at all.
