    Hi Modx’ers,

I would like to pack a whole site like the demo installers you can get. I am a complete Modx nube so please bare with me.

Also due to server restrictions I can currently only run Evolution

I have added images and some other snippets demo pages etc.

I have heard of a something called packman that seems like it might be able to do this but the documentation seems pretty sparse.

Basically I would just like to zip up a generic site and data base (although I appreciate this might need to be done separately) which can then just be deployed like the demo installs you get.

Any help on doing this would be appreciated.

    Regards,
    Steve

Packman is for Revolution I believe.
There are at least a couple of options:
      1. Create your own full custom installation by modifying the standard install package, not to difficult if you have some MODx experience, but fairly time consuming and probably only worth the effort if you’re planning on doing quite a few installations.
      2. Zip up your master site, include the install folder from the matching version of Evolution, backup the database as an sql file. On any new sites use the db sql file to populate a new database, upload/unzip your master zip run the install, select the upgrade option, which should adjust the paths/settings in the db to match the new server.
This isn’t meant to be a full step by step guide, more a pointer.
