Basic form and submit field entry to database - SOLVED

Dont know if it matter but the install is on my own server running WAMP and is not in the Apache Server root directory. It is running off VirtualHost one level up from Apache Root. MySQL is setup as LocalHost.

anyway, security concern,
I used to not input the $_POST values directly, but sanitize that first.
so just like this:

$post = $modx->sanitize($_POST);

The example above returned a 404 error. It tried to navigate to a www."whateverwebsite".com/saved

I have this(below) working but it is one post behind in the database. Example: fill in the three fields with 1,1,1 and hit submit. Nothing happens. Refresh the form and this time fill in the three fields with 2,2,2. When I go to the database table to see what was posted, only the 1,1,1 is now entered. The 2,2,2 wont be posted until I submit the form again. Any ideas?

This is definitely wrong:

<form method="post" action="[[CreateQuote]]">

If you want the form page to post to itself, you want this:

<form method="post" action="[[~[[*id]]]]">

That sounds normal to me. The server, which manages the DB, has no way of knowing what you typed in the form in your browser until the browser submits the form.

I just replaced with

<form method="post" action="[[~[[*id]]]]">

And it does not post to db now. Just to clarify. I have the form located on a "document" under resources tab.

Regarding the submit of data to the db. What im saying is that the data is not inserted to db when i click Submit. I have to refresh and fill the form out again and Submit again for the data that was in the first form submit to show up. So its always one Submit behind. Did I say that right? Confusing...

If the form is in the page (rather than being pulled in as a chunk from the snippet) be sure the snippet tag is above the form. Otherwise, I can’t think of what would cause that.

So I have basic core functionality to submit some data to mysql but can someone tell me what is wrong with this code? I cannot get it to work as described here.

What I mean is the top portion of the code works for posting data to database but following the resto of the tutorial here:
