    I’ve just moved a localhost modx revo install to bluehost.com. The frontend is running fine, but the manager refuses to login. It can’t find the following files (according to firebug) even though the path seems to be correct:

    /manager/assets/ext3/resources/css/ext-all-notheme-min.css
    /manager/templates/default/css/modx-min.css
    /connectors/lang.js.php?topic=login
    /connectors/lang.js.php?topic=login

    If I use a correct username/pass combination that works locally on the remote server, it returns me back to the manager. If I use an incorrect login or password it informs me that the username or login is incorrect, so it is seeing the DB.

    While I didn’t follow this page to the letter (found it after I had started migrating) http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Moving+Your+Site+to+a+New+Server I’ve pretty much gone through the steps and can’t see where I’ve gone wrong. Any ideas anyone?

      Did you do an upgrade install after moving the site?

      Have you checked the four config.core.php files?

      § MODx root directory
      § /manager/
      § /connectors/
      § /setup/includes/

        I haven’t done an upgrade install, is there any documentation on how to do that? edit: is this it? http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Upgrading+MODx#UpgradingMODx-UpgradingMODxRevolution2.0

        I don’t have a setup dir, but I have checked the other 3 files. They seem to be ok.

          Try uploading a setup/ directory from the MODx package. It would have been removed after the initial install.

            Got it working. Thanks bobray and sushi.

            Those wondering, after I reinstalled and clicked "finish" to log into the manager, it was giving me a 404. I changed some of the paths in the config.inc.php, specifically

            $modx_manager_url= ’/manager/’;
            $modx_base_url= ’/’;

            And it worked. Cheers
