I recently received the content manager from my web designer. I logged on with no problems and did some changes to my site. I now try to log on and it says I can’t log on from this location. What gives? Any suggestions on getting back on.
Let me be more specific. I logged in fine into the Modx content manager for my site last night. I did a few content changes to the website....just text. I then changed the password only. I logged off to make sure I could log back in. I logged back in using the new password a few minutes late and it worked perfectly. I went home and tried loggin in from my home computer and a message said "Can log in from this location"......so i waited till this morning and tried login in from my office again and it came up with the same message.
Any suggestions.....I need help and there isn’t any contact # for Modx....Please help.
Unless the designer has inserted something to do that, nothing I know of in MODx would prevent you from logging in from anywhere.
I would ask the designer first, and then maybe file a support ticket with the host.
The message implies that the IP and/or ISP that provides service at your home is blocked for some reason.

There is a setting for manager users to limit the IP addresses they can log in from. You’ll need to talk to your site designer; he’s the only one who knows how your MODx installation is configured.
