    I’m struggling with this simple question: i want to display different chunks in the side column of specified pages (based on resource ID) outside content area, how to do it in simple way? I want to keep secondary content separate from content to avoid a client messing up DIVS with Frontpage + TinyMCE.

      which version of modx?

      in revo you have outputfilters or if-snippet. In evo you can install phx.
      With them you can show different chunks based on resource-IDs.

      But I would create a checkbox-TV or would use the sortable-checkbox-custom-TV with input-options like that:

      in evo:
      chunk A=={{chunk_A}}||chunk B=={{chunk_B}}||chunk C=={{chunk_C}}

      in revo:
      chunk A==[[$chunk_A]]||chunk B==[[$chunk_B]]||chunk C==[[$chunk_C]]

      name this TV: sidebar

      and place it to your template with

      evo:
      [*sidebar*]

      revo:
      [[*sidebar]]

        Isn’t the simple answer this:

        1. Create a new resource for whatever you want to go into the sidebar (or any other div you like)

        2. Make sure you have the getResources snippet installed (via packetmanagement in Revolution).

        3. In the page that you want the sidebar to appear in create a snippet call for getResources which grabs the content and displays it in the sidebar.

        There is some good documentation in the official collection on how to write the getResources snippet call and point it specifically to the resource you want.

        Hope that helps.
