I’m building a site for a marathon in modx revolution. I’m looking to record peoples times at various stages of the race and was wondering what is the best way to record this? I am using a date/time field but unfortunately it doesn’t record seconds, something that I’ll need.

Is there a way to modify the input filters to add seconds?

Are you really sure you want to create a resource for each starter and put all the times in TVs manually for each stage with a datetime-picker?
I think, what you need is a system, which stores the runners times locally on each stage and which can log-in to your modx-system and post them from local to your modx-(custom)-db-tables automatically.

      I would create tables for

      runners (id,name,birthday,gender,...................), stages (id,stagename,stagedistance), runnerStageTimes (id,runnerID,stageID,unixtime)

Then its easy to put together all infos you want to present.
