I have a client who has been happy with a small music player on their site that uses Flash. They would like iPad users to also be able to play the music, however.

Can anyone tell me what they are doing in similar situations to accomplish this, or suggest an approach? This would need to be an Evo-solution, fwiw.

    TIA,
    Matt

      Hi Matt,

here’s an overview of HTML5 (Video) Players + Flash fallback / iOS support, guess most of the players could be used as pure audio players as well

There is also this post: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,50447.0.html

Sharkbait has the right idea, the iPad/Phone need access to a supported file in order to playback the file(s). A standard mp3 should be fine, you just need a link to the file or an alternative player mobile safari can interact with (see sharkbait’s link).

Thanks for that feedback and those links. I also came across this player
          http://www.jplayer.org/
So now I need to see how closely I can get one to look like what the client currently has (XSPFplayer with mp3 files).

          Thanks again,
          Matt
