We are looking at MODx to replace a home baked CMS. Since we create web properties for our clients we cannot do any editing in the production environment. How would I need to setup MODx to handle a Development, Staging and Production environments - they would all be on the same domain. I do not see a way to publish an incremental change for instance, if I need to make a change to a given page we make the change in Dev then move the files to Staging for testing and UAT - once approved we publish to the Production environment. What would I need to do to support this process with MODx. I am not an engineer or programmer but I am responsible for the CMS recommendation and license purchase. So if I could get an answer in lay terms that would be great.
