    Hi!

I’m just playing for the first time with users and groups. I’ve got a problem. I’ve got 2 users:

    (user group > user)
    Administrators > Admin
    Staff > Editor

I also got a resource group (Editor r. g.) where I put a couple of pages (1 of them being the home) for test purposes, and assigned it to the Staff User Group.
Since I setted it, when I navigate to the home, It isn’t visible (Page not found). Why? It should, since it’s one of the 2 pages of the Editor r. g...

And this happens even if I flush permissions and sessions, log out staff and clear browser cache and cookies.. Why?

    Thanks!

Who are you logged in as?

You need to give the admin user rights to any resource groups (and/or contexts) that you create restrictions for - it doesn’t automatically assign them.

But the main problem is that the problem perstists also after I logout and flush things and clear cache..

I’ll repeat the question - who are you logged in as? Editor? Admin? Or nobody?

Also, which context is the resource not visible - in the manager backend, or the web front end? (It sounds like web, but just making sure)

nobody. All. But also persist when I log out.

You said in your original post that the home page is restricted in the resource group Editor to the user group Staff.

As the anonymous user doesn’t have access to that resource group, or is in the user group, that is the behaviour you expected, isn’t it?

Did you mean to only restrict Staff access to edit the homepage in the backend? Change the context of the permission from ’web’ to ’mgr’.

Mmm. Ah ok. the anonimous. So you mean that, as soon as I create the first resource group (with a subset of pages), I must have anothe resource with all the pages and assign it to Admin and anonimous if I want them to continue viewing all the pages?

Yes, the anonymous (or any) user must be given access to the resource group (it already has load access to the web context, I’ve just checked) if you want them to have access to a restricted resource.

Access controls > anonymous > update user group > resource group access
