    Hello,

I’ve experienced a problem using MODx Revolution.

After installing without any errors, I am brought to the login page for the manager panel. Once I do so, however, nothing shows up; I get a blank white page. If I clear my cache, I am able to re-enter login information and the page can still detect incorrect login combos.

    Running on:
    PHP 5.1.2
    MySQL 5.0.22
    Apache 2.0.55
    Debian

In the error logs I get:

    [2011-01-27 14:29:30] (ERROR @ /manager/index.php) Error preparing statement for query: SELECT modActionDom.*, Set.constraint_class, Set.constraint_field, Set.constraint, Set.template FROM `queensu_actiondom` AS `modActionDom` JOIN `queensu_fc_sets` `Set` ON `modActionDom`.`set` = `Set`.`id` JOIN `queensu_fc_profiles` `Profile` ON Set.profile = Profile.id LEFT JOIN `queensu_fc_profiles_usergroups` `ProfileUserGroup` ON Profile.id = ProfileUserGroup.profile LEFT JOIN `queensu_fc_profiles` `UGProfile` ON UGProfile.id = ProfileUserGroup.profile WHERE ( ( `modActionDom`.`action` = ? Any help?

Very frustrating problem, try looking at the advice given in:

      http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,51981.msg303741.html#msg303741

If none of the suggestions work you might get more help if you repost your problem in the ’Release Support’ forum.

I had the same problem when I installed Revolution using the DNS address before my domain name was assigned to the host. Everything worked fine until I tried logging on using the domain name address. Ended up doing a complete reinstall.

Is it just me or are the majority of the Manager login issues with Revo occurring with PHP 5.1.x ... [edit] on further review seems that most reports are happening on 5.2.13 and earlier. Even PHP 5.2 series has had support ended as of 5.2.16 (with the exception of the one critical flaw that crashed PHP and was released as 5.2.17). Going PHP 5.3.x+ sure is tempting!

I hadn’t noticed that, but upgrading XAMPP to get PHP 5.3.1 solved a number of problems I had with other programs (although I have a new one where PhpMyAdmin occasionally crashes Apache and Apache seems more crash-prone in general now).

What did you do during reinstall to make it work?
