When I hit Preview from the manager interface, or go directly to the site, it has started to Download the page automatically instead of display it in the browser. Does anyone have an explanation for why this might have started happening?

"When I click preview, it will just download a document to my local computer called index.php"

More info: Clicking preview from the manager on any page but the site’s first page loads the site. If the "home" page is selected from any of the correctly working preview pages, it will download from the home page link.
I have deleted the cached page thinking it might have been corrupted somehow. There is no change in behaviour. Two other sites in this domain are working perfectly.
Forget it. My client changed the content type of the home page resource from "text/html" to "application/vnd.ms-word". I knew it had to be something simple.
