Error creating table in fresh 2.0.7 install

    I am attempting to install a fresh 2.0.7-pl traditional install. However, I run into a problem. Most actions complete successfully, but for some reason three tables can’t be created, which results in the following errors.

    Error creating table for class registry.db.modDbRegisterMessage
    Error creating table for class registry.db.modDbRegisterTopic
    Error creating table for class registry.db.modDbRegisterQueue

    This problem is quite similar to a problem some users encountered in a 2.06 install:

    The suggested fix seems to have been integrated into the 2.0.7 codebase. ENGINE={Engine} is added to the SQL Query if a different engine is specified and modifying the code to always add ENGINE=MyISAM did not work, since I still get the problem. Is there a way to get more elaborate information about why the installer couldn’t create the table?

    Additional info:

    • OS Debian Linux 2.6.26-2-686-bigmem
    • Web server Apache 2
    • PHP 5.2.12-0.dotdeb.0, with Apache 2.0 handler
    • MySQL 5.0.84
    • ModX Fresh 2.0.7-pl, no changes whatsoever

      Did you create an empty DB for MODx in PhpMyAdmin? That’s often necessary.

        If those are the only tables that did not get created, there should be an error reported. Check core/cache/logs/ or your error_log defined by your PHP configuration.

            Solved! It turns out for some reason not all files had been copied to the installation directory. This led to this somewhat cryptic error message.
