Is there a way to give a manager user group permission to publish on a particular set of resources without giving them permission to publish all resources?

Right now, if I add managers to a resource group, they can only edit or create children, not publish.

I want all users to be able to edit these particular resources, but only a few to be able to publish them. Yet I need these publishers not to have publishing control over all the other resources.

For example, I have Resource Group A and Resource Group B and non-grouped resources.
I want everyone to be able to edit Resource B, but only certain users to be able to publish in Resource B. Yet I don’t want these users to be able to publish in Resource Group A or the non-grouped resources.

I’m using MODx 1.0.3. I’ve looked at the MODx documentation on both the Wiki and the Dashboard but have not found the answer to this question.

In MODx Evolution, users have a single role which determines whether they can publish resources or not (regardless of the resource group). The resource groups determine whether they can see a resource or not -- independent of what they can do with it (which is determined by their role).

The only way I can think of to implement what you want is to give the users multiple login IDs depending on what they want to do -- not a very elegant solution.

That’s one of the reasons MODx 2.x Revolution was developed -- to give people more granular control over the operations user can perform with different resources.
