Hi there,
I’m just about to build a client who has existing hosting. I’ve requested that they provide me details of a new database, and they’ve given me the username, password, database name as per usual. However, the database hostname is slightly odd, and I’m not sure what to do with it!
It’s localhost:/tmp/mysql5.sock. Now I usually just leave it as ’localhost’, but I tried very quickly earlier when I was at the office, and couldn’t connect although I tried a few variations.
Could anyone shed some light on thus fir me?
Thanks!

Straight from the horse’s mouth, as it were! (Google is your friend)
Thank you Susan, helpful as always. Which setup file contains the db connection string? And do I need to put that script anywhere else?!
Thanks again

You should specify that when you install. For Evo the file is manager/includes/config.inc.php but I don’t know where it is in Revo; it might be in a file in core/config.
Okie dokie. I’ll have a good look when I get back into the office. It’s a Revo install. I’ll update this thread too (presuming it’s been a success!)
Thanks again Susan
