Hello everyone,
As I’ve started getting my site back up and running with revolution. As in general I’m running into misc coding issue or something I don’t know anything about that I have to research play with or beg for help. In the meantime, I’d like to get the rest of the site up and running.
The basic question what is the best way to install another revolution on the same site to use a testing ground while my main one is live. I was wondering if just creating a test folder (IE: public_html/test/) and install it there and during the install tell the core it’s in that test folder and have it’s own sql database etc. Would this work or is there are simpler way?
I’m hosting with bluehost and below is the information:
Web Server:
* PHP version: 5.2.16
* Apache version: 2.2.16
* Operating System: Linux
Database:
* MySQL version: 5.1.47-community-log
MODx:
* Version: Revolution 2.0.7
Browser/Client:
* Browser name and version: Firefox 3.6.13
* Operating System and version: Win 7 Ultimate

That’s the second best way. The best way is to install a LAMP stack (XAMPP is an example of an easily installed one for many platforms; I use MAMP on my Mac) and install as many as you like in subdirectories. I usually have at least five or six running for various purposes on my poor little iBook.
