While do some googling I came across some widgets and modules that where world of warcraft themed, I take it after some searching there are none available?
so basically what you are saying is, there is no pre-made snippets offered like the plug-ins for wordpress. But by using the chunks to handle the html calling with the snippet variable inside that to handle the php/mysql query since chunks can only perform html, I could in essence create a modx version of like those that use .cfm? I am a modx newbie so deal with me here if I am way way off the mark or what have ya, however I really have no problem with this as I already have been 3 weeks into creating an xml parser to my desired results however I can take it a step further allowing even more variable and non-static data by crossing it over then into modx format. I swear when i started this project a month ago I had no FREAKIN idea what the hell I getting myself into.
Right. You can do some styling in your MODx template. But for local styling, you create a chunk containing placeholder tags and then use a snippet to set the placeholders using:
$modx->setPlaceholder('placeholder_name','value');
What do you know from looking at my original post about 2 weeks ago starting this project it is finally starting to sound like I actually know just what the heck I am doing.
