I run a site called baseaddress.com
I’ve set up a domain name alias called fakeaddress.com which presents the content from baseaddress.com. All pages retain the alias correctly (e.g. fakeaddress.com/page1 shows the same content as baseaddress.com/page1) EXCEPT when I click on the home page link. The Home page is the start page for the site. It works fine if I go straight to fakeaddress.com, but when visiting another page and then coming back to the Home page it reverts to baseaddress.com. I assume this is because the start page automatically picks up the true base URL (i.e. baseaddress.com). So instead of having fakeaddress.com/home I end up with baseaddress.com when clicking on the Home tab.
Is there a way of telling the system to keep the alias for the start page? I’ve tried using a different start page and then redirecting to the Home page, but it still picks up the base URL and uses it from then on.
The baseurl is not specified in the template, because this breaks the alias totally.
Welcome anyone’s thoughts on this.

What’s the href value of the link to your home page?
How are you "copying" over the site?
Revolution, Evolution?
My nav uses Wayfinder, so the Home link is automatically generated (using the Resource Alias). The resource alias for the home page is ’portal-home’, but because it’s the site start page, it truncates the URL to just baseaddress.com instead of baseaddress.com/portal-home
I’m using Revolution 2.07. The domain name alias is set up on the server as an A Name record.
