I have recently noticed that some of my documents publish themselves. I have to manually publish each document but when I create a new one, I cannot stop it publishing or unpublish it. Any duplicates I make of that document remain unpublished. Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong?

I presume you are using Evolution. Take a look at the mm_demo_rules chunk; the default rules had the publish date set. The latest version of Evo doesn’t have that rule any more. The only rule I leave on installation is the one to have the TV image previe widget installed.

Hi, sorry yes I am using Evolution. I have opened the chunk, unfortunately I am still learning Modx so I don’t know whether to change it or delete it?

You can either comment out all the lines, or delete them. The only one I would leave is
mm_widget_showimagetvs(); // Always give a preview of Image TVs
