Hi,
I have a question regarding the language in the management system.
I am going to start working on a website that is built by a Finnish guy that only understands his own language.
Therefore the whole system is in finnish and I dont understand a thing. Is there any way how to change this temporarly when I’m working in it?

I know in Evo it’s possible to set the Manager language for each user; don’t know about Revo.
Sorry for replying in this old thread, but maybe it will help someone else.
You can have any supported language you want for a manager user in MODx Revolution
and it´s very easy to do. This one works perfectly at least on Revolution 2.0.8-pl.
- Go to SECURITY -> MANAGE USERS -> right click the user of your choice -> UPDATE USER
- Switch to the SETTINGS tab -> click CREATE NEW and overwrite the system setting with:
Key: manager_language
Name: Manager Language
Value: Any language abbreviation Revo supports (en, de, fr etc)
- SAVE and you are done. The user should now have her/his manager in the chosen language.
Supported language abbreviations can also be viewed by going to:
- SYSTEM -> SYSTEM SETTINGS -> Search by key -> manager_language
- Double-click the value (en by default) and have a look at the drop down content

@modx_developers: Is it possible to have the manager_language connected to the language of the admin?
For my case: I installed MODx in another language. This other language was set in modx manager. Then I wanted to change the language to English: System >System Settings >manager_language >edit: en
Nothing changed afterwards. I was confused until I found this post here, that it is necessary to add a key in the user profile!
As I am the admin, the manager_language should be what I set up in the System Settings. Without the need to go to my own settings...
Please consider that. Thanks!
