    Hi All,

i’ve build my first 3 sites with MODx so i’m not totaly green but i’m still a long way at being a seasoned MODx’r.
That said, suppose i need to make a new functionality. For example a tool where a sportsclub can enter all timescores of every race of every contender and make a nice ’All scores’ page with it.
I know how to set up a table for the scores and how to make a php to present the data to a page. i know how to mmake the form to enter the data.
But How wouldd i go about in getting this admin page (where the webmaster can enter all scores etc)in the manager? i have realy not a clue where to start looking either? Not being a native English speaker doesn’t help either smiley
i want to keep the Manager page as clean as possible so my client (the potential ’webmaster’) is not intimidated by the massive amount of possibilities Modx offers.

so in short how do i manage the Manager? and can someone give some links to examples or tutorials
    tnx
    Ralph

That is exactly what "modules" are for. There’s even a new tool for easily building one.

      http://modx.cmsthingies.com/module_maker.html

And an article on building one with AJAX capabilities

        Hi,

tnx a lot, yes that is what i was looking for. the documentation is realy the bare minimum but i think it will take me a few steps further.

Any idea how this example relates to revolution?
I’m testing Revo and there seem to be no modules but plugins. Are they the same?
or do i have to learn a new way of doing this once Revo is stable?

        tnx,
        Ralph

          Hello Ralph,

I’ve not tried yet but the ’Custom Manager Page’ in Revolution seems to match your goals...
Have a look to the Revolution Documentation http://svn.modxcms.com/docs/display/revolution/MODx+Revolution

Quip add a custom Manager page on Revolution.

The tutorial on the doc use Quip as example.

I’ve tested the tutorials for a custom components and it works well.
