tinymce adding double backslash to file urls

I am on revo 2.06.-pl
tinymce version is: 4.1.2.

recently on all my sites, while using tinymce I can upload files to a directory, choose it but before inserting it there are two // added to the url, so instead of being:
myfiles/1.jpg
it is
//myfiles/1.jpg

if I go ahead and insert it, the html code looks like this:


if I rid the two backslashes before inserting it, everything is fine >:(:


the problem is this has just happened on all my sites and my clients sites.
any thoughts?

That nt the magic quotes?

no I don’t think so, the last update was specifically geared to fix // in http on images selected via the manager browser, all the sites were good prior to me updating a few days ago, and magic quotes isn’t enabled on my host, will contact other hosts though just in case.

checked with all the hosts, magic quotes is off by default, and no matter how I set the file manager url and path those pesky backslashes appear, the problem is I guess I just have to tell clients to rid the backslashes if they see ’em. But I would still like to know why it does that.
