I am a designer, not a developer, so please pardon the elementary nature of my issues. I am building my Modx site on a local server (MAMP) in a folder(siteName)

When I go to upload it to a remote, I assume I will have to change some of the paths in the system settings. I knew how to do this in EVO (path to file manager), but the field in REVO appears to have a current value that is empty.

I think I broke my site trying to change the local directory names and then the path setting. Can not log in now, but was not very far along in the actual design. Would like to know the correct way to do this next time. huh

    Happy New Year!

Update a few items... in the Core directory update config.inc.php it has some paths hard coded into it. That will get the manager working.

Then do a search in system settings for "path" and update those accordingly.

Got the config.php updated and logged in! Thanks! But this error message prevents me from navigating to the System settings:

Could not find action file at: /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/earthandspiritcenter/_redesign/buildSite/manager/controllers/default/system/settings.php

Note that it is looking in the "buildSite" folder, which has changed to lent45. embarrassing.. please be gentle.

Problem solved, but question remains. THANKS! I changed all paths back to original names rather than the desired new name and can log in without error.. But, I am assuming I will run into this again when I go to move it. Is there any documentation about how to move the site from local to a remote?

          Thanks!!
