    Evolution 1.02

I have a category. In it are 50 pages.
I want to apply a given template to all existing pages, as well as any page I put into that category in the future.
    Is there an easy way?

alternatively, I thought of using chunks, or template variables to create my theme for that category; so this approach might require a different solution.

You can use the Doc Manager (available under the Modules tab) to perform bulk edits of multiple pages. Select the template you want to use using the radio button, then specify a document range, e.g. 123** (assuming 123 is the document/folder containing all those other pages). You may have to go back and restore the template used by the parent document (123 in my example) because I don’t see that the Doc Manager module has a way to omit a specific page.

Other than that, you could simple select the template you want to use as you create each page. If that one particular template is the one you want to use by default when creating a new page, you can set the default template under Tools --> Configuration then adjust the template under the "Default Template" setting.

Hope that’s what you were looking for.

The Inherit Parent Template plugin is installed and activated by default on installation (of Evo), and automatically assigns the children of a resource the template of the parent.

More recent versions of it allow a configuration setting to have it use "first sibling" instead of "parent"; it will assign a new resource the same template as the first child of the same parent.
