Hi all,
I’m currently venturing into the wonderful world of MODx, and contemplating redeveloping my homepage in MODx. I’d like to get a quick idea of how many folks are using Rev vs Evo, and perhaps some suggestions as to which I should start out with.

Revolution is still quite new, and doesn’t have the collection of third-party add-ons. However, if your site just needs menus, news or blog-style listings and commenting, Revo would be my recommendation.
On the other hand, support for Evolution won’t be going away, so it’s a safe choice as well.

I think there should be another option "Both" ... which I would vote for
I agree.
I think, thererfor I am! But what I am, and why...?
Eighteen isn’t much of a sample, but it’s amazing that almost 40% are at least trying Revolution already.
