Support Comments for ChildrenCount & ChildrenCount Package Page

    My Problem:

I have a structure as follows:

    Main Category Folder
    Sub Category 1
    Folder 1
    Child 1
    Child 2
    Child 3
    Child 4
    Folder 2
    Child 1
    Child 2
    Sub Category 2
    Folder 1
    Child 1
    Child 2

The main category folder re-directs to the first Sub category folder.

I was hoping to use the "ChildrenCount" snippet to show how many folders are in the individual Sub Categories. My output will be "Page 1 of [[ChildrenCount]]"

According to Docs, the snippet should set the Parent ID dynamically if not set using "&parentId=`ID HERE`" but in my case it seems to set the folders ID where the snippet is called.

    example:

    Sub Category 1 (id 10) -> Folder 1 (id 11) -> Child 1 (id 12)

Snippet is called in "id 11" which should then output "2" (2 folders - Folder 1 and Folder 2) - what I get is "4", meaning the children

My problem is that the snippet isn’t picking up the parent ID - my example would be in this case "id 10".

If I add my "id 10" to "&parentId=`10`" then the results are correct, the problem is, I need the dynamic funtionality as I have multiple Sub Categories.

I suppose I could use PHX and say "IF THIS THEN THAT" but I am not a savvy user of PHX and sadly not a PHP’er.

Any and all help is appreciated.

I hope the above is understandable.

    Cheers

I have had the code re-written commercially.

My coder told me that the original snippet doesnt actually do what it is supposed to.

      Cheers
