The site I’m creating has a very rigid predetermined menu system that needs to repeat itself across a large number of pages. Essentially, groups of around 7 pages that need their own set of navigation.

I set up a wayfinder call that works perfectly, but I’m having difficulty figuring out how to get the appropriate menu title for each page. I created a TV where upon page creation the user can select the page type as a TV. This selection will drive the template for page content and I’d like it to appear as the value for the menu. Is there a way to set a default value for the menu title as [*tvname*] without having to type a tv in for every page?

I’m definitely open to other methods too if anyone has any ideas. Thank you for your help!

You could try [+TvName+] in the appropriate Wayfinder Tpl chunk. I’m not sure if it would work or not, but I think so. That would pull the TV content from the page the menu item is referencing. Using [*TvName*] would just display the TV’s value on the page with the Wayfinder tag over and over.

BTW, you can set the TV’s default value to @INHERIT and it will inherit the value of that TV from its parent or other ancestor up the tree.
