    Hi All,

I’m a bit of a newbie to modx, so please bear with me...

I have created a ’TV’ that is set up as a check box. When a page has this checked I wanted that page to show up on the top navigation which is a line of links not a list. eg <p>page one | page two</p>
I am also trying to use wayfinder for this. Any help on this more than welcome...

      I am currently using:

      [[!Wayfinder? &startId=`0` &hideSubMenus=TRUE]]

Why not just check or uncheck the "hide from menus" checkbox when editing the page?

Hi BobRay, thanks for the reply. I have a main navigation, that I wont to work as normal, but we want to add a few extra pages at the top of the page. So in essence two navigations.

            Hi jimboroberts,
            [tt]&hideSubMenus=TRUE[/tt] should read [tt]&hideSubMenus=`TRUE`[/tt] .
            To your question:

Better make the top navigation a list too. You can force the list items into one line using the CSS for the <li> elements. So you can easily have an extra Wayfinder call for the top navigation.

              Thanks for the help Ottogal,

Do the ` make that much difference? I haven’t noticed any.
Also any idea about the checkbox?

The back-ticks are required for all snippet parameters so it’s a good idea to make that a habit. Sometimes they will work without backticks but if you get in the habit of not using them, it will bite you eventually.

On the checkbox, Wayfinder isn’t really set up for that because it dynamically reproduces the document tree (hiding any items with hidemenu checked or that the user doesn’t have permission to see).

There is a solution suggested here: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php?topic=29527.0

I think you could also use getResources to produce the menu.

                  Thanks bobRay.

As for showing the navigation if my custom tv is checked, would Phx help solve the problem?

Only if you hard-code the menu. Wayfinder would create the menu before any PHX modifiers took effect. You could use PHX to hide the whole menu, but not parts of it.
