    Hello everyone,

A part of my website will have multiple resources (articles/announcements). In addition to text as the main content, each of them will have a set of tabs assigned to them. These tabs will each contain comments (will be using jot), picture gallery (maxigallery), sign-up form, relevant files, etc. It is impossible to know beforehand, which resources will have which tabs - they will be assigned manually. Upon creation of the resource, its creator/editor will pick which tabs they would like to assign to it. MODx will then generate snippet calls for each of the chosen tabs and create links to them from the parent resource. It seems natural to create a TV checkbox where the creator would choose which functions should be available for a particular resource.

    Now questions:

    • How to create the list of tabs from the checkbox TV (most likely output as a delimited list)?
    • How to generate snippet calls so they’re assigned to the parent resource?
    • Do these tabs with snippet calls necessarily have to be separate pages? I would rather just have one page per article and navigate within via provided tabs.

My current idea is to create a separate resource for each snippet (NOT snippet call) that can be used and then somehow pass an ID of the resource from which a visitor came to the snippet page. But in this case how could I use just a single maxiGallery call, for example, to enable uploads and browsing of multiple galleries, one for every resource that has picture gallery tab assigned?

I’ve been thinking for a while and since no obvious solution comes to mind, I’m asking for your input. How would you structure such a website? The good news is that the website has not been launched yet and anything is up for a change if needed. So keep your ideas flowing!

I am relatively familiar with MODx (built a few websites). I don’t mind writing PHP code if need be. I’m running Fedora Core 10, MODx 1.0.4, PHP 5.2.9.

    Thanks so much!
