I have Δ in my html, tinymce (the editor) displays as the delta character (just as a browser would) and when I save the resource it saves as the delta character which browsers (at least some of them) choke on - Safari for example displays a ’?’

I tried & and tinymce leaves this alone, so not all html entities are messed up - these are the only two I have tried so far.

Is there a setting I can change somewhere to make tinymce work with Δ

Is this a bug or a feature?

I do not want to have explain to a non tech editor that yes they can use the tinymce editor BUT when finished editing they will have to turn off the pretty editor, find certain characters and replace them with the appropriate html entity!

      Hi,
I could be wrong, but as far as I can tell, the Tiny implementation for Revo is still being worked on, and there seem to be precious few items you can set from the Manager.

I also know that using entities is an ongoing problem for non-English languages (so what else is new?) - people have code fixes for that scattered around, but nothing solid, mostly boiling down to item-by-item translation - not much fun. Tiny is used by "everyone", so every implementation is different. I’m guessing that you’ll have to dig way into Tiny’s own code and in particular, it’s initialization parts. I’ve done some spelunking in its config in the past, and didn’t enjoy it especially much, but it’s certainly possible, especially if you’re an excellent programmer (that wouldn’t be me).

So unless someone has a brighter idea, you might need to find the plugin code and dig into it yourself.

Judging by this page, it does seems as though entities can be played with quite extensively:

        MODx and Wordpress development
        Linux, PHP 5.2, MySQL 5.0, Evo 1.05, Revo 2.08-pl, Firefox 4

        thanks samba for your reply

well I dug a little and tried a couple of things - no success

then a couple days later and I noticed in a wayfinder call & converted to & BUT not all of them, tried with several - the last &whatever is unchanged, all the others are. Fortunately this does not seem to matter as Wayfinder/modx do not seem to care!

I am going to just live with this - not enough time to do otherwise!
