    This page is referenced in different threads but it appears to be missing

    My question: I want a usergroup to only be able to edit 10 pages. How do I set this up?

      Create a document group. Attach your usergroup to that document group. Put those 10 documents in your document group. Create another document group, and attach it to another usergroup for your admin user. Assign the rest of your documents to the second document group.

        it’s not obvious to me where/how to make a document group.
        Is "Document groups" the same as "Resource Groups" in the web permissions area?

          Security -> Manager Permissions.

          In the User Groups tab, create two user groups, one for your admin user(s) and one for the limited editor user.

          In the Resource Groups (or Document Groups, depending on your version of MODx), create two corresponding groups, one for the documents your limited user will be able to access, and one for all the rest.

          In the third tab, connect the groups. Connect the limited user group to the limited document group, and the admin user group to both groups.

          Now edit the documents, and at the bottom you’ll see the groups you can assign the document to. Assign the documents that you want your editor to access to the editor’s group (or both groups if you want), and assign the rest to the admin’s group (but not the editor’s group).

          OR - the simple way (this is MODx; there’s always a bunch of ways to do things!) just create the admin’s document group, assign the documents you DON’T want the editor to access to that group, and leave the editor’s documents in the public group. The main admin user can access all documents without being assigned to a user group.
