I’ve created a new copy of a modx site in preparation for switching hosting, so one site is accessed by IP, one by domain name, however the content changes in both when I just edit one, so the new version is reading the database from the old one - how can I fix this? Do I need to re-run the installer?
check the config files in each to see what database they are connecting to, sounds like you are connecting to the same db with each site ( IE both on the same server withe the same login details )
The config file with the DB name are:
Evolution:
manager/includes/config.inc.php
core/config/config.inc.php
I would run an upgrade install after fixing the DB name in the config file.
