When I type in the address: someaddress.tld the site works perfectly, with/without Friendly URL’s enabled.
When I type in address: www.someaddress.tld the site sends me to the "Site Unavailable" page designated in the site settings.
This is my first revolution site, but in Evolution the ’www’ prefix would still work.
What is up with the ’www’ making my website ’offline/unavailable’???
*FYI my DNS setup is correct.
*Work around: enable search engine strict rewrite rules in .htaccess file (changes www.domain.tld to domain.tld)
Environment:
modx: rev 2.0.8-pl
localhost: Apache/2.0.63 (Unix) PHP/5.2.11 DAV/2, MySQL client version: 5.1.37
Could it be that you are logged in to the admin section?
It could be that your site is marked as offline and you are logged in to the admin section as someaddress.com. This sets a session variable and allows you to view your site at the someaddress.com URL.
If you try and look at www.someaddress.com, as far as session cookies are concerned, it’s a different site. You’ll be redirected to the site unavailable message.
worth a mention anyway.
